Re: Tommy Armour 845 Silver Scot Irons
I play 845fs Silver Scot irons, lefties. They are from 2003, took me forever to find that out until I found an archived Golf Digest article from the 2003 PGA Show. Armour sold more than 600,000 sets of 845 Silver Scot irons, and they are often considered one the top irons sets ever made, right behind Ping Eye 2's.
I got mine online, brand new, when I started playing in 2005 at the advice of my brother in law (7 hdcp). Got literally the last set of 845 lefties a golf retailer named Austads' (they are out in MN, IA, NE, around there) had in stock. Got them for $199 shipped. They do hold up really really well, and I really like them. I get really good ball flight out of them.
I also would like to see Armour rebound, I'd like to see a big OEM buy them out to have a presence in a lower market, ie Callaway with Ben Hogan, Taylor Made with Maxfli, etc.
