They use to have some Arizona coati's at the Sonoran Desert Museum when we lived in Tucson back in the mid 70s. We also caught a glimpse of what we think were coati's when visiting the I'm not sure how widespread they are or what the population may be, but they're considered a native species in parts of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
