The man is almost 48 years old and this is surely his last chance to play an event he obviously loves, at home, no less!! If he had successfully qualified for the US Open, what's the likelihood he even makes the cut? Same with the other majors.
He had a plan, he stuck to it in the face of his critics, made a lot of money along the way, and has achieved his goal. I say good for the old guy!!!

I wasn't all that bothered by his choice not to try to qualify for Torrey either, DK. I think the idea that he's going to skip the Open is kinda silly but to each their own, I guess. I can only hope that if (likely when, now) he makes the team, he helps the US team as best he can and we can maybe scratch out a victory for a change.
