Re: PGA John Deere Classic

Byron Nelson had his historic season back in 1943. It just so happened that a majority of his fellow competitors were over in Europe fighting WWII. Yet very few golf annals feel the need to invoke that asterisk in their footnotes.

Obviously Kenny Perry is no Byron Nelson. But the strength of the field argument really doesn't fly with me. Because if someone can name me a player in the world that is playing better than Kenny currently, I'm all ears.

Besides that, a month ago we were all wondering if anyone would take advantage of Tiger's absence. It appears someone has, and it gets overlooked as a meaningless victory, in what will ultimately be a meaningless season in their minds.
