The Players Final Pick Em Standings

I guess it's appropriate on a day when only the 2nd non-American in Players Championship history takes the title, we would have our very first non-American winner of a Golf Rewound Pick Em contest. The winner of the 2008 Golf Rewound Pick Em contest is -

Petermo

Petermo edged out GRW's own Halk by virtue of having the foresight to pick Sergio for his team... though not to win. Twilldog was the only one to pick Sergio to win, which allowed him to jump quite a few in the final standings for a very respectable finish. Ames was the only other pick worth bonus points to anyone (2). So Petermo, if you'll PM me your mailing information, I'll see about getting these golf balls shipped to South Africa.

Congrats to Petermo & El Nino and thanks to all who participated.

Congratulations petermo. Enjoy the golf balls and the prestige.

Wow, sixth place. I think I may be getting vertigo. :swoon:

And thank you to Wazmankg for running everything and being very prompt with getting the scores up.

That was fun. Nice work Petermo.

If Phil hadn't played like a numb skull today, I was hoping for a strong finish.

Thanks again Waz. Looking forward to the US Open pick'em challenge.

Re: The Players Final Pick Em Standings

Lekker picks, there, petermo! Enjoy the winnings.

Good job, Waz, and thanks for handling this. One thing I was wondering - in the next pick 'em, how about having us pick a first and second alternate in case something happens like this week, where several picked players have to WD, especially before the Thursday start? Just an idea!

Sure. That'll work. I think this is the 1st time anyone's been bitten by a WD. We'll also have the added benefit of laughing at everyone whining about "if only my alternates counted".

Congrats the winner, Petermo. Thanks to Waz for running a great contest. Contests like this give watching tourneys a little something extra. You start to check on players you normally wouldn't worry about otherwise. Can't wait till the next one.

Are you sure you don't mean Calamari? And I thought his prize was very gracious not gratuitous - that's your forte
