Re: Reshafting Nike NDS irons
Hey, thanks for the info and the link. I guess I'll just give it a go myself as I have access to a fairly accurate postal scale, should get me close enough.
This is basically what I plan to do, let me know if I am missing anything.
Insert club into shaft clamp/vise
Cut off old ferrule
Heat hosel until bond breaks and pull off head
Clean hosel with wire brush bit, swab inside with solvent
Cut tip of shaft to manufacturer spec
Sand tip of shaft with 80 grit sandpaper
Dab a bit of epoxy in ferrule to help slide onto shaft
Start ferrule onto shaft then dryfit into head to seat in approximate final location
Apply epoxy into hosel and onto shaft end assuring good coverage
Insert shaft into hosel until it bottoms out, slowly twisting back and forth to assure good bond
Wipe off excess epoxy with solvent
Sand down ferrule if necessary and wipe with acetone to regain smooth finish
Measure for final club length and cut 1/4" less to allow for grip cap
Install new grip
I think that is everything. And I would also be adding weight if needed during this process.
