As you know, when you hit the "reply/quote" button in the post you want to reply to, you get a message box that starts with the entire post enclosed in the "quote" markers.

I click and drag over the entire post, including the "quote" markers, to highlight it. Then I do a Ctrl-c to copy it. Then I do a Ctrl-v to paste a second copy of the entire post (including "quote" markers) lower in the message box. Then I go back to the first copy of the post and delete the parts that I don't want to respond to just yet, leaving only the part that I do want to respond to, taking care not to delete the "quote" markers. I write my reply to that part of the person's post, and then I proceed to the second copy of the post. I delete the parts I don't want to respond to, leaving only the part I do want to respond to. I repeat the process for as many separate replies as needed.

Doesn't Ctrl-c let you copy (and Ctrl-v let you paste)?
