On this day our ever-present Scot, Darth Fader, has attained his 1000th post and earned the rank of Green Jacket winner. Your wit and humor, insight and thoughtful posts have been a great asset to the community and we thank you dearly for your contributions. I'm looking forward to seeing what the next 1000 bring.

for dinner we would have

Cullen Skink- is a thick Scottish soup made of smoked Finnan haddock, potatoes and onions.

Haggis (big surprise i bet)-There are many recipes, most of which have in common the following ingredients: sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours.

Mashed neeps-mashed turnip

Mashed potatoes-do you really need a description

beef stock gravy

Dessert-Cranachan - raspberries, honey, oatmeal and cream.

With pleny of uisege beatha the water of life WHISKY.

I'll take your word for it on the whisky but ever since we had a party from graduation from AIT in the military the smell of bourbon or whisky has turned my stomach. I guess it might have had something to do with the 2 litres of Candian Club mixed with coke followed by a large bottle of Cold Duck and a couple of cans of Lowenbreu beer. It took my stomach 4 hours to quit convulsing and 4 days to beat able to eat food. Now I see a bottle of dark liquor and I turn my head and move away. The roughest time was when I bartended for a friend and had to pour the stuff. I became fairly quick at pouring and getting away.
