I had a feeling from the bigging of the period that Jose would not be celebrating christmas at Stamford Bridge. Although likeable I dont thing Jose was the right man for the job. He spent a lot of money on some players who didn't contribute anything for the club.

I am not sure about Avram Grant. Unless they get new players I don't see them getting any silverware.

There is alot of finger pointing as to who was behind the big purchases...seems that Ballack and Sheva weren't Jose's picks, and a quote from Shearer about Sheva at the time of the deal to paraphrase...he doesn't have the legs to get behind defenders anymore...anyone can see that...Jose certainly can see that...

This is going to hurt Chelsea more than the Special One, who will land on his feet in a nice situation no doubt...Chelsea is saddled with a strange hodgepoge of players and a manager who answers interview questions with "I need to think about it..."

Minor leaguer in over his head if there ever was one...Terry has his work cut out...

£25m going into his bank account as compensation will not hurt to help soothe any hurt feelings he may have had.

I don't think the strange hodgepoge of players is to blame either. The same hodgepoge exists in other teams as well. Look at Arsenal, Liverpool and the other top teams. Somehow Wenger, Sir Alex and Rafa manage to get their teams to play attractive football. When watching Chelsea, I was falling asleep.

Re: Vietnam Golf Courses

Arsenal are much better suited to each other...young, quick, speedy...

Chelsea have a worn out pastured racehorse of a striker in Sheva, Ballack who isn't better than his position competition (Lampard) and plays out of position, rides the bench or lately lounges in injury, and 25 guys...none of which is worth much at right back (save Essien, but is wasted when put in the corner)...Sir Alex has a mix of experience United hall of famers who have cut their teeth on his systems and played so for their entire competitive career coupled with solid positional role players who aren't looking for the limelight, and a couple of stars which play continually flows through (as it should)...I love Chelsea, but they are a mess and it isn't getting better with Mr. Avram at the helm...

BTW...what happened to Joe Cole? He isn't half the player he was before the injury where he looked to be the rising star of the English squad...

You hit the nail on the head. Chelsea players look worned out and it's not because of unhappiness about contracts. For sure the chelsea players are the highest earners in England if not the whole of Europe, not to mention the outrageous amounts of money spent by the club to bring them to stamford bridge.

There were some figures published recently. Chelseas net spending in the last 4 years has been £250m, Man U £150m, Liverpool £70m and Arsenal £5m.
Now compare the Chelsea players to the players of Arsenal who get paid only a fraction of the salaries chelsea pay and it will tell you who is the better manager.
