What did you build last year, and what are you planning on building this year?

Last year I built myself a couple of wedges, a couple of putters, and a 7-wood.

When Golfsmith had their big sale, my mom picked up some components and I built my two younger brothers two partial sets. I also built my mom a 7-wood.

This year, I think I'm going to build a driver, either for myself or my mom, and probably a couple more wedges...

I didn't build anything last year and I won't this year. It's probably a good thing for my sake and for the safety of others around me

Re: What did you build last year, and what are you planning on building this year?

I have not built many clubs for myself, but Taylor Made does send me some of my clubs in pieces so I can build them myself. I really enjoy club building and modifications. Have reshafted every club in my bag except for the putter and I guess that is only a matter of time. I also do all of my own grinds on my wedges, have been doing that for years and don't trust anyone else to do it.

Last year I build my wifes entire bag and I built myself a SMT Spectrum driver and a Alpha RX Pro 51* wedge. I also did all of my own re-shafts and re-grips.

This year I will be building some Maltby MO5 irons and a Maltby M-series 56*/8* wedge.

Re: What did you build last year, and what are you planning on building this year?

I built for myself a driver and 3-wood. I paired up the Golfsmith Black Box with the V2 shaft for each of them. I've built several sets of irons for others and a driver for my dad.

I usually don't build things, I reshaft new clubs when I get them. Only thing I haven't done is my putter.

I built the Golfsmith 1000cc driver, lol it is a hoot to hit. Goes straight right. This year, I will probably just switch shafts around a couple of clubs for me and my hunny.

I have been able to hit the thing a max 265-270. It is hard to get through, and you have to literally use 3" tees for the thing. I'll take a picture of the thing and post it tomorrow.

Realized I had my camera cord at home, so here goes.

This is next to my wife's Pink-O-Matic Bang 401cc headed driver.

Toe pic.

Just a picture with a ball to the face to show how deep the face is.

Re: What did you build last year, and what are you planning on building this year?

I plan on reshafting a few of my old sets of irons. Most likely my 1978PowerBilt Levelumes or my 1972 Hogan Apex. I'll put in some DGS300, check the loft/lie and be ready to go.

Last year, I built an Arbor for my Garden. This year, since I no longer live there, I will be building a 20' x 20' workshop for my woodworking tools...oops sorry...wrong topic

Re: What did you build last year, and what are you planning on building this year?

I built for me a driver (Tour Swing 5N2), a set of irons (Kenneth Smith forged), some Raven NearNet wedges, and a bunch of other clubs for friends. This year it will be a wedge (new Infiniti P3), a putter (the new Mentor blade - whenever it gets released), and a driver for my wife.

Don't want to get too far away from this thread.. but here goes...

I swung the 1000cc monster at Golfsmith's demo room late last year. After about 20 swings I had had more than enough. It felt like I played 18 right there! That is one heavy club! I am tempted to have one made just for the fun of it. Maybe share it with the boys on a cheap gc.

Re: What did you build last year, and what are you planning on building this year?

I do this for a living so it would be a long list
I built a driving range last year so not much in the way of equipment
This year for my self, a set of irons, a wedge or two and looking into a driver.
