Cobra FSpeed ?

I have the Cobra FSpeed driver w the stiff flex. I have played around with the idea of putting the Grafalloy blue shaft in it. I have heard real good things about it and my brother just bought a driver with one in it and it work well for him. But what has me stumped is where cobra matched these shafts to these clubs. Do you think it would improve what they have done or would I go in the opposite direction. The shaft in case any are woundering is a stiff mid kick that is presently in it.

Re: Cobra FSpeed ?

I don't think there's any harm in putting an aftermarket shaft in these clubs - their "matched shafts" are just a stock option. Keep in mind, if you do go with the Grafalloy, that the Blue is a board - you'd probably be better off with a Regular than a Stiff if you go for it.

Stock shafts are good for a majority of players, but to truly fit the club to your swing, often an aftermarket shaft is better. The stock shaft is designed to fit a wider variety of players, for example a stiff stock shaft could be used by someone with a swing speed of 90-105 mph, this is a very wide range. A person who swings at 100 mph is in the higher end of this shaft and could benefit from going to an aftermarket shaft that is designed for swing speeds of 95-105.
