shaft extensions

I am looking to buy a new set of irons and am about 6'4" so i believe I will need slightly longer than normal shaft lengths.(+1/2" according to a height/wrist to floor chart online) I will definatly buy used and most likely off ebay. I am wondering if I can take the set to a local shop and have the shaft length and lie adjusted. I've seen shaft extensions sold on golfsmith so I was wondering if this is a common practice, and how good they are....thanks in advance.

Re: shaft extensions

I'm in the same boat, need a 1/2 inch long and have done the shaft extension myself, pretty easy, just cut them and epoxy them in and regrip. I don't think you'll notice a difference, clubs may feel a little heavier swing weight wise. I think the lie adjustment cost me 30 bucks.....I needed 3 degrees upright.

Re: shaft extensions

If you're determined to keep the shafts the clubs came with, then putting on extensions are pretty easy.
