How often should I check my Lie angle
I am a high handicap golfer and have been getting lessons trying to get better. I am assuming as my swing changes/getting better, there is a chance my lie angle will change?? Is this something I should look at every six months or as long as the ball flight is straight and the divot looks correct, I probably don't need to worry. Just trying to pack one other thing to think about before I go practice some more.

Re: How often should I check my Lie angle
If your ball flight is good, and the divots look good, I wouldn't worry too much. If you are playing cast clubs, they won't change as easily as a forged club. However, please tell us what type of clubs you are playing, cast/forged, and whether they were fitted to you or not.

Re: How often should I check my Lie angle
I guess they are cast (Ping G2). They were fitted for me, but that was a year and half ago and 15 strokes or so ago. I sounds like if I am happy with the flight, then I shouldn't worry to much.

Re: How often should I check my Lie angle
Cast clubs won't change the lie angle as easily as forged clubs, by the mere impact of the club with the ground during a normal swing. If your divots are good, and the toe or the heel isn't digging, you have nothing to worry about. But, if you need to be sure, get access to a lie board, some masking tape, and go to the range and hit some balls off the board, that will tell you if the club is just right, too upright, or too flat for your swing.
