Lead Tape where on Driver head?

For a temp slice fix, where again does the lead tape go on the driver head? Is there different gauges of tape? I swing around 80 MPH. R Flex stock TM shaft. I need to a little help until I decide on when & where to get some lessons.

Tape goes towards the heel to promote a quicker toe (more quickly closing face) and less slice tendency. Also, standard 1/2-inch wide lead tape weighs slightly less than 1 gram per inch, so using 2 inches or more begins to affect swingweight.

If your issue is technique or mechanics (since you mentioned possible lessons), I would suggest that you get that squared away before changing the characteristics of your clubs. Lead tape is used to correct minor inconsistencies and should not be used as an attempt to "cure" anything.

Re: Lead Tape where on Driver head?

I agree with JP and for once he is right.

Fix the swing. At 80 mph all you need to do is make sure the trailing hand releases over at impact. Don't try to guide the head or you tense up and prevent the head from spquaring at impact. Try teeing it up trying not to let the back elbow get too far away from your side and keep the wrists loose as a goose and just swing through to the target and don't worry about the ball as I'm sure it will get in the way of the head coming through. You can't hardly even add enough tape to change the characteristics that much anyway. Remember also to keep your head behind the ball at impact. Sliding just a little forward of it at impact leaves the face open and either leaves a push or a slice dpending on the swing path.

CP knows that I'm right 90% of the time, but he just can't bring himself to admit it.

He'll come around. Sooner or later, they all do.

They only become speechless because you either shock them with a valid and reasonable answer once in a while or they are so confused they know not what to say.
It's nice to be back up so we can banter again.

Well, you already know where the lead tape goes, but the fact is you need to fix something or other in your swing. I use to have the hardest time squaring up the club face at impact, back when I had my over the top slicer's delight swing. One thing that would sometimes work for me was to try hitting the ball with the toe end of the club. That's just another quick fix though. After I got my swing on plane, that kind of thought would send me into hook city. No too bad as the course I play, that side puts me in an adjacent fairway instead of OB on the opposite side.
