Regripping a driver

Regripping clubs,
I have recently pirchased a set of pings and was fitted for a grip that is -3/64" off standard size. Christian from SRG is making me a sand wedge that will be also gripped smaller. My Question is should I have the grips on the rest of my clubs ,mainly my Driver and 3wood , regripped with a smaller grip also? Also I would like to have a 1/2" cut off of my driver how much will this change the swing weight, my Irons are cut 3/4" short from Ping.

Shorty,
grips are a real "feel" preference thing. If you like the -3/64 size and feel is comfortable then by all means get them changed. A proplery sized grip can help confidence which translates into better golf

cutting a half inch off the driver will change the swing weight of the club to make it feel a bit lighter in the head.

Cutting will make lower the swingweight, but if you put a lighter grip (undersize), it will balance out and the swingweight should be close to what it was.

Your R5 is at a D1 swingweight at 45", so cutting it would drop it to approx C8... Adding a lighter grip will get some, but not all, of that back - but I'd choke down on the club and hit for a while just to be sure the heft is still to your liking. Most all of us would benefit from chopping a little off our drivers! I have a couple older drivers in the backup bag that I trimmed to 45" and 44.5" to try out at the range this week.

All of my drivers are 44.5", didn't lose any distance, but did pick up a lot of accuracy. For my students, I try and explain that they will hit the ball in the center of the club more often which will help them gain distance versus a standard length that they hit a little off center.

Hit both old drivers today, working out the kinks before busting out the new r7... The 44.5" was MUCH easier to hit on center - and it's only 280cc!

That is the same thing I let golfers know in emails when I recommend cutting the driver down... I got use to the reply being "won't I lose yardarge" and I would let them know that if they aren't hitting it on center then their not getting the yardage they should out of the club but maybe once every 10 times (some more, some less). So a shorter driver will bring more accuracy and more center shots.
