Re: Callaway FT-5

Golf Digest seemed to like this baby. Editor's choice. Their previous generation FT-3 was a great club too.

Re: Callaway FT-5

The FT5 sounds so much better than the FT3, they also stretched the face out to reach the end of the club. The one thing I didn't like about the FT3 was how the toe curved in to the face of the club so you had a 460 cc driver with the face of a 300 cc driver, just didn't suit my eye. This club is long also, the ball really takes off when you hit it.

Re: Callaway FT-5

I have an FT-3, love it and this is what I compared to the FT-5 I demo'ed recently. I had the opportunity to use a brand new FT-5 that one of the courses I play on just got in for a demo. Set up the same as my FT-3 with regular NV shaft and draw bias. Played it for a full round (18 holes) plus hitting two balls on a couple holes where I had the time. I saw no difference between it and my FT-3 as far as my ability to hit the ball. It looks a little different with slightly larger face. I'm sure Callaway put some more research into this club to come out with something new but I didn't see any improvement over what I have now; e.g., not longer, not straighter, ... That said; just like my FT-3, it is a very nice driver but I wouldn't upgrade just yet.

Re: Callaway FT-5

I hit an FT-5. Fuji R shaft, today . Wonderful Driver. Expensive,... but then, I may have to sneak one into my Bag, ...as at age 67, I found some yardage and the FT 5 was straight
