I've been a fan of SMT for awhile now and the Spectrum is still my favorite component head. Its 390cc size suits me perfectly. My longest drives have come off the face of this head and thats also using a True Temper Lite XL steel shaft. I've been known to occasionally send drives into right field, but I find this head easier to turn over and square up at impact. It might be the added weight in the heal, from the welded sole plate. Or maybe I just somehow figured out what I was doing wrong.

The sound it makes is a nice somewhat high pitched metallic tink sound. Its a nice solid sound. As far as working the ball, you'll just have to either wait until I learn how to work it or wait for a better golfer to share his/her results.

But, I do know that this club is easy to hit straight. My average drive is around the 240-250 range with a low 90's swing speed (about 220-230 yds carry and 20-25 yds of roll). The only possible negative that comes to mind about this head is that it has a love it or hate it style. I like the looks of the SMT Spectrum and I figure that as long as it is easy to hit, I'll give up a few style points and keep mine in the bag.
