Medicus Driver Cracked! Oops!

Oh, well. The club slipped out of my hand and made a collision course with the fireplace. The fireplace won. Cracked at the hosel and dented on the bottom.

I wonder if I can salvage the hinge mechanism and rebuild a driver.

Re: Medicus Driver Cracked! Oops!

lol thats funny, sounds like something i would do. I would think you could rebuild it to make it work since all you really need is the weight of the clubhead to activate the hinge mechanism but im not an expert by any means.

Re: Medicus Driver Cracked! Oops!

The key is the hinge. I wonder if it can be removed and a real shaft be fitted or have the hinge inserted into the shaft of a regular driver.

I am going to look into it.

Talk about sweaty hands!

Re: Medicus Driver Cracked! Oops!

Called Customer Service. They were of no use regarding rebuilding or repair. That is pretty sad.

i don't see why not, they are epoxied in. go see a clubmaker, steel heads are very cheap, you should be able to get this done for under $50.00.

EX-A-A-A-A-A-CT-LY!

You know, I am not a fan of the big Square driver. It sounds like you're hitting the bottom of a metal trash can.

Aside from my own driver, I prefer the X-460.

I dropped mine off at Dick's Sporting goods to get an estimate. I don't care what head or shaft is on it. I just need a shaft with a hinge to work on the swing.

Well, it cannot be repaired. It is unfortunate that Medicus does not do repairs.

Oh, well. It was good while it lasted. Now to bury it in the backyard...

Funeral services will be today at 4 PM. It is survived by its long term companion, the Medicus Iron, and its best friend the Momentus iron.

I don't need it anyway.

Re: Medicus Driver Cracked! Oops!

I wrote to the company to see if I could get a response regarding repair. 6 days later, still no word from them.

That's too bad. I just lost respect for this company.

I won't be replacing the driver, since I don't need it. However, to future users, you might as well consider the Refiner which is much cheaper.
