Precept Laddie Extreme

For any of you that have not tried this inexpensive ball I would say give it a shot. Reading a golf review this past Dec. they rated this ball just behinf the prov1 as all around best performer and I must agree with the articles evaluation. I'm pretty picky about balls and generally use the Callaway HX Tour, Black Max, or Pro V1 but this ball for a two piece at 19.99 for 2 dozen has topped them in my opinion. They feel soft to hit which is number 1 in my preference, they are well controllable around the green which is number two, great carry distance which is three and they are real durable which I don't necessarily have to have but it is nice. I don't know how they did it with a surlyn ball but they have a winner with this one for pretty much anyone that doesn't mind saying they use a lesser expensive(cheap)ball. They may not stop and back up like a HX Tour 56 but they react to spin well enough.

Re: Precept Laddie Extreme

I've used these a few times, still have a sleeve or two I'll play, but since I started using the Nike Power Distance Soft I've found I like the Nikes better. Off the tee both balls are about the same, but I find the Nike's slightly better (for me!) when chipping, and definitely better when putting. For some reason the Laddies just don't seem to roll as true or as well as the Nike balls. When using the Laddies, I was consisitently leaving putts short that I KNEW should have made it to the hole. I switched to Nikes and my putting improved noticeably, especially long lag putts. Again, just my experience, and once I figured out the difference I was able to adjust, so I can play the Laddies alright. And as you mentioned, they are a great ball for the price, and if anyone wants to give me some I'll gratefully accept them and use them!

Re: Precept Laddie Extreme

I used the Nike power soft in the green box a about a year and a half ago and it was good but felt just a little hard for me but better than many other low to mid range balls. I don't see any putting difference that was noticable. I adjust really well to any ball for putting speed but I have to have a ball that feels soft and as far as rolling true I thought the laddie extreme was great. I had 28 putts and got robbed on 4 of them because of the wind on yesterdays round. I felt the distance off driver and irons were consistantly better from the laddie extreme compared to the power soft. Again that could be personal preference. I've used so many different brands and have really never been impressed by any, other than Maxfli revolution tours and they were discontinued. HX tour 56 caught my attention some but that was because they take spin too much and I quit using them.

I only play the Laddies. Inexpensive, and a great all around ball!
