What effects do a large/oversized grip versus a regular grip do to your ball flight?

What effects do a large/oversized grip versus a regular grip do to your ball flight? I was wondering because I have the Cleveland Hibore and my shots go straight but when I am off, I am hooking left (it has oversized grips).

I tried a Nike SQ with an OEM grip and most shots went straight but I did also slice a few when I was trying to get used to it.

I do realize that the size/shape of the clubheads are vastly different, as I surmise the swingweight to be different, too.

Normally grips too small will cause hooks, too large will tend to slice...

I don't know....I think it depends on the person and his/her swing.

That is generally correct, but as is the case in anything, it can vary from person to person.

The phase I am going through on a bad shot I could hook a club even if the grip was the size of the fat end of a baseball bat!

Last nite on the Golf Channel, don't know if it was the Natalie Gulbis show, but Natalie was hitting balls with Butch Harmon giving advice, making changes (she held the club face a little open and he told her to close it a little). She indicated she went to a 'midsize' grip and started hitting better. I couldn't believe it. I just went to a midsize with 2 wraps and also hitting better, but I'll guarantee you I can probably close my first knuckle over the tips of her fingers. But then Butch went into a short missive on the benefits of grips that fit your hands, etc.

Like tmtp, it depends upon the golfer. I have a problem with hooking the Hibore (not pulling it) - it could be my flawed set up with that particular driver. However, it doesn't happen with the Callaway 460 or the Nike SQ.

The Hibore is now out...

Could it be the closed face or perhaps the shaft causing the hooking?

It could be a closed face but I don't know the statistics of the 'face angle' of a Hibore.

It looks as though the SQ is neutral. Thus the fade or more straighter ball flight on initial trials with it.
