Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

Not fit in the length/lie way (I'll get fit for them), but in a right for the type of game I play way.

I'm an 18 handicap. Swing speed about 95-100, although this is a guess because I joined a gym in the fall and have been lifting weights all winter. I've only played once and it certainly affected my swing in a positive way.

I figure the Mizunos are probably a good fit (I have hit them, and like them). The Bridgestone I'm a little curious about. I haven't hit it (I can't find a place around here to hit one), but I've heard really good things about it. The club is targeted to a lower handicap than I have, so it makes me a little nervous.

Re: Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

I've never hit Bridgestone clubs or balls..but I here their decent. I would go to GS ant just try one out, and see if you like. I heard that they fade a lot...but that came from high handicappers, so use your own judgement.

Problem is, there isn't a Golfsmith in DC. And none of the local shops have one in stock.

I know it will tend towards a fade since the face is square. But I've hit the FT3 before with some success and it is only 1 degree closed.

Re: Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

One thing i've heard about the Bridgestone heads is that they're VERY low spinning heads... might want to look into the kind of spin you produce with the driver before making your final decision, as if it isn't spinning enough, the ball will just fall out of the sky.

if the face is square it wont tend to fade that all depends on your swing.

Re: Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

don't let the irons make you nervous. its all in your head. im a 17.18 handicap and am also looking at these. i talked to a pretty young pro at a golf shop, and he said that those are great clubs. they are forgiving and workable, which is what somebody like you and i need. as far as the gym portion. i have been going to the gym, too and i am hitting the ball farther than i ever have as well.

Re: Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

I have the bridgestone driver and it sets up pretty square. The head is super long but not as forgiving as some of the other current drivers on the market. The right shaft combination is a must with this club.

Re: Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

Thanks guys. I'll see what I can find at the Golf show. I'm pretty excited about it. Hopefully I can find some good deals.

Re: Do a Bridgestone Driver and MX-23s fit me?

The BS driver, along with being a low spin head, also tends to produce a lower launching shot. If you do decide on the BS driver, depending on your swing characteristics (i.e. natural low ball, low spin player) you might consider going up a degree in loft.
The BS drivers look amazing though! Nothing gadgety about them, just a great, simple driver

Its hard to tell unless you hit them first...I would try them and see...Bridgestone makes some decent stuff.....Most of Bridgestones stuff is geared toward better players and better ball strikers

Know anywhere in the DC area that has them in stock where I can hit them. The local shops I know don't have any in stock. I'd love to go test one, but can't find anywhere to do it.

They used to. They didn't last time I was out there. I go out every couple weeks and check, hoping they'll have one I can hit.

I haven't been in a while - I used to work in the building across the street from the Capital Grille. I like to go just to look around and I always felt hounded by the sales people. I felt like they practically begged me to hit the clubs.

You will like those Mizunos.
