Fitting $

How much do fittings cost on average these days for drivers, woods/hybrids, irons, wedges, and putters? All I have heard is positive things about the fitting process, so I'm looking into it.

Re: Fitting $

Most big box stores will include the fitting with the purchase of an iron set. We charge $50 to use our launch monitor with myself or one of my assistant pros reading the data for you.

Go to a Nike demo day, and they will fit you for all of the Nike stuff for free

Re: Fitting $

If you go in a place ready to buy, they will fit you right then and there. Also, if you take lessons from a golfing store like Golfsmith, they'll fit you as well. Far as I know though, $50 is about the norm.

Re: Fitting $

I got my length and lie angle fitted at golfsmith for free, but as far as they knew we were going to buy the irons there

Re: Fitting $

I have been wondering this as well.

So if i take my clubs in they let me hit off the monitor and adjust my clubs for $50? Normally speaking.

Also...this may be a dumb question but is your irons the only thing they fit for?

Re: Fitting $

You can get fitted for every club in the bag, including putters.

Re: Fitting $

How much different is the fitting process between a Custom Club builder, a large chain store like Golf Galaxy, and the OEM custom van that comes into town ????????

Re: Fitting $

Not too much when it comes to irons, most will do a static measurement and then a dynamic swing fit. This is a pretty standard procedure when it comes to checking lie angles. For the driver, most big box stores use a Vector launch monitor while OEM vans may have something a little different. TM use the MATT launch monitor, Callaway uses C-Pass, and so on and so forth.

Re: Fitting $

So i should expect $50 total for every club in my bag? Sounds like a sweet deal

Re: Fitting $

Is it considered rude to get fitted for free and then not buy any of their clubs?

Re: Fitting $

Most of the places that I have seen will charge a fee for the fitting if there is no purchase made, they will then apply the fitting fee to the purchase if you make a purchase from them.

Re: Fitting $

I went to a Callaway Fitting Center in central Jersey last year - it was part of the Neshanic Valley Golf Course. The cost was $75, with $50 subtracted if you bought the clubs there (might have been the whole $75, I forget).

The fitting was for irons and a driver. It lasted around one hour, and I was very satisfied with the entire experience. The irons they recommended were BB 2006, with regular graphite shafts, +1/2" and 1 degree upright. This was a slight change from my previous fitting of 15 years ago.

After trying out a variety of Callaway driver combinations, the fitter recommended I keep my TM 580XD, since it performed just as good as any of the Callaway products. I thought this was pretty honest of him.

tmtp is right. We charge $50 for a fitting on the Zelocity but if you buy anything over $100 we take off $25 and if you buy anything over $200 then we don't charge anything at all.

The fee is in place to make sure we don't waist our time on someone that doesn't have any plans on purchasing from us. The reason is because it takes about 45 mins to an hour to totally fit someone into a club.
