The One That Got Away

What is the one club you used to have that you wish you never got rid of?

Mine is a Taylor Made 200 Tour 3 wood that I used for a couple of years. Great look to it and terrific control. Spent a few years trying to get one like it, went through the V Steel, r7 TP, and r7 Steel before I was finally able to get something close to it with the r7 TP HFS three wood that I currently play.

Re: The One That Got Away

The one club that I've always regretted giving away is an old Dunlop 5 wood. It came with a shaft approximately 1 1/2 inches longer than the average 5 wood of that day. It was a club that I could guarantee a 200-210 straight shot. I used to tee off with it 12 years ago and muscle it for 230-240.

I gave it to a nephew.

you can still get those pretty easily

Mine was an original titleist pt 15 tour issue, and a prototype titleist fairway wood

Re: The One That Got Away

Mine was the Tour Only "Smoothie" version of the head, very difficult to find again. Probably could find them on ebay but don't think I would want to pay as much as people charge for "Tour Only" equipment.

Re: The One That Got Away

Run of the mill Callaway War Bird (USA) with the RCH90 shaft. I've picked up two others; one with the RCH90 and the other with the RCH96 shaft, but they are just not the same.

Cleveland 588 BeCu 56* - although I've just replaced that with a new (old stock) Hogan BeCu 56* but have not had a chance to play it yet.

Re: The One That Got Away

The HFS is the same size and appearance but has two weight ports in it. Great launch and a solid feel.
