Seems there is no standard!
I was looking at the standard lie of various manufacturers and was surprised to see there is no standard.
Take a six iron, titleist's standard is 62.5 degrees but Mizuno's is 61, a very big diffence of 1.5 degrees. With all the other OEMs varying by 0.5 to 1.5 degrees also. Some are even different from model to model within the same OEM!
Why is there not a standard that all OEMs follow?
I was custom fitted for some titleist DCI's several years ago and was pleased to realise I was standard everything, buying clubs in the future would be easy, just get the standards I thought. but now I realise that standard is only standard within each OEM (and then not allways).
So if I want some new irons on the cheap (ebay) i'll have to buy titleist or get some forged and have them adjusted.
How much can forged clubs be altered, what is a sensible amount?
