Limited Edition Titleist Vokey Wedge Works

Bob Vokey and the Titleist Vokey Custom shop are releasing limited edition wedges with custom grinds and features. They're around $250 a piece. I love my spin milled wedges I currently have, but these are probably very nice also. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they're available for us lefty's. Have a look.

Looks nice! Not worth $250, but nice. I'll keep my regular Vokey's for $99 a piece and play the same as I would if I had the $250 ones.

I hear that...Titleist is really starting to tick me off, because they keep coming out with beautiful new stuff that I have absolutely no way to justify buying.

haha, same here. I really like Titleist, but every piece of equipment is more expensive than the competitors. When choosing a driver a few weeks ago I was down to either the Titleist 907D2 or the Cleveland Launcher XLS. I just couldn't justify an extra $100 or so for the Titleist over the Cleveland. The thing that gets me is the 907D2 has been out for over a year and still the price has not budged from it's original launch price.

I know it will never come down because people continue to pay the outrageous prices, but I've read before that it costs these companies around $100 bucks to manufacture these drivers (may not be true?). So, make them for $100 and sell them for $400. Seems like they could stand to lower the price and still make a killing while they're at it, but that's just me.

.

I've used Vokey's and I don't like them at all.

I'll stick with my Snake Eyes 655TM's which are, in my opinion, the best wedges I've ever used and they only cost me about fifty bucks a piece to build. Not only that, but I set up my own custom grind for myself and I set up the shafts to my liking as well.

But, I suppose if someone has $250 laying around and they really love Vokeys, then go for it!

Too much money for a wedge if you ask me. For that price, I'd want a few lessons with Phil on how to use the thing.

...and already the eBay opportunists are selling them for well over the $250 original price, with one seller setting the BIN at $415.

The funny thing is there will be someone pay that for it thinking that it will cut a few strokes off their game. I guess if you have the money, go for it, but people paying outrageous for a club or item just because it's "limited edition" is just crazy.

See, told ya. I'm tellin' ya, if you want to sell merchandise in a hurry, add the "limited edition" tag to it and people will absolutely eat it up.
