Need a cheap hybrid? Check this out...

Just had to report a bargain, in case anyone else wants to take advantage...

I just got two Ben Hogan CFT hybrids ($23 and change each) off of Callaway Pre-Owned. "Like New" condition was how they were listed. They arrived via FedEx, and I'd say they certainly were in "Like New" condition - how about brand new, still in the plastic, with the OEM Hogan headcovers included...I was pleasantly surprised.

They had 15% off woods/hybrids this past weekend, but even without that, they are selling 'like new' Ben Hogan CFT (not the CFT Ti) hybrids for $28-$30, both lefty and righty, 1h (17*) through 5h (27*)....anybody wants a brand new hybrid for under $30, go check it out...you can't even buy a clone hybrid this cheap.

You'll find them under the 'other brands' section on the website.

I also picked up a Hogan Carnoustie SW while I was there, it was new in the plastic also, and it cost me a whopping $13.99.

Forgot to mention, I got the Apex graphite stiff shafts, so those prices are good for graphite shafted also....

Re: Need a cheap hybrid? Check this out...

I have been playing Hogan Hybrids for about 4 years now, since they came out I think. Payed 120 back then for them new. I swear by these clubs, I have the 2 though 4 but usually swap out the 2 for a 5 wood. They are great clubs.

Re: Need a cheap hybrid? Check this out...

I have to say I really like the Hogan hybrids so far - I seem to be able to hit them pretty decently! They've replaced my 3/4 irons, and my 5 wood.

I've always stuck with the fairway woods since my only experience with a hybrid was a Tour Edge Bazooka that I never could hit. As inexpensive as these were, I figured why not give them a try - think I'll be glad I did.

WB, you going to snag yourself the 1 and the 5 on the cheap....?

Thanks, I just put the link in my save list...actually, it's another site that the pre-owned Callaway ties into for 'other' manufacturers clubs, not Callaways'.

You can certainly find nice bargains on these sites. I just picked up a brand new TM r7 draw hybrid for my son for 65$ from Ebay....same as the one he currently has, but the current one is "Reg" flex and he wanted a "Stiff" flex, so I'll sell the old one and probably the new one will end up costing me very little.

Re: Need a cheap hybrid? Check this out...

Looking at the address on the box when I got my clubs, it looks like they are in the same building, or next door...and actually, the Callaway rep placed my order out of "Pro Lines" stock. I wonder if they renamed that part of their business for marketing purposes...when I got my Taylor Made 200 about 6 weeks ago, the 'Pro Line' name was nowhere to be found.

BTW I see the 15% off woods and hybrids is running again until July 31...it'd make those hybrids even cheaper..

Yea, that was it... Proline. When you click the "other brands" link (hard to spot below the main menu box at the top of Callaway's pre-owned site, it brings you to another site with both Callaway and Proline names evident, but when you click on anything, it goes directly to the Proline site with no mention of Callaway.

Great link. After talking to a club fitter about hybrid shafts, I went to this link and got the CFT 3H with the Apex 4 (still) steel shaft. I'll be testing that out on Sunday.
