You said you've compared them side by side for accuracy and ease of hitting, just curious about the distances.

I'm not a long ball hitter anymore, having had a failing heart for many years and could not play. Now, however, I am a heart transplant recipient, but only been back at the golf game for the last 3 years. But they seem to hit as far as any metal wood I have used. You will not lose distance due to them, in my opinion. I have the steel shafts, but you might want to consider their graphite shafts instead. If I did it over again, I think I would probably go with the graphites, but the steel shafts do quite well for me. The specially shaped sole really gets the ball out of the rough. I have hit balls honestly half buried in wet, gooey muck, and the Niblick hit it up high and long. To me, the feedback and feel of a well struck, real persimmon wood is something a lot of golfers have never experienced. I grew up with them. But the Niblick is not just another old style club. And like you said, their 30 day money back guarantee is really nice. You will have to be a bit more careful with the club, since it will scar up and scratch a lot more easily than a metal head will. I always wipe my woods clean and brush out the gooves after a shot and always replace the headcover when I put it back into the bag. It might take a bit of getting used to, since the sound and feel are totally alien to you if you have only played metal clubs, but a well struck persimmon club, at least to me, is the sweetest and purest sound in golf. But I find that the Niblick is a well designed club head and the V-shaped sole and super low center of gravity really work. I don't really see the need for a hybrid with these woods in my bag. I will probably invest in a Niblick 9 wood this year. I think I will get that one with a graphite shaft just to see how it does. But let's face it, we all enjoy tying something new once in a while. But I think these clubs are a solid design and you will like them, and besides, how do you go wrong with a money back policy. I also play one of their F2 drivers and it is the most accurate driver I have ever hit. But that's another story. There's also something very satisfying in playing something that was created by an honest to goodness real American craftsman instead of being stamped out by the zillion by a robotic welding machine in Red China. Kentucky persimmon and Kentucky craftsman...that's about as American as you can get. But I also love real bamboo flyrods made by American rodmakers. Then there are Remington rifles also made in America with USA walnut stocks. I think you get my drift....
