The Language of Golf

You've heard them all. Dogleg, banana ball, skyball and on and on....what are some of the more interesting and compelling words or phrases you've heard used to describe ANYTHING golf? Let's see if we can get them all identified in this thread. You first.

I hit a Jerry Riley once. I apologized when he came to, I still don't understand why he looked up when he heard me yell "fore."

It's gold!

The "translation" was not necessary as it was pretty self-explanatory, but thanks anyway.

I didn't translate anything, it was from the article. But thanks for giving me credit anyway.

Re: The Language of Golf

A "Cuban" - putt requiring one more revolution to be good.
An "OJ" - almost anything to do with a slice.
A "Korean butcher" - player always trying to cut the doglegs

Some timely metaphors:
A "Hillary" - shot hit too far left
An "Anne Coulter" - shot hit too far right
A "James Carville" - ugly but effective
A "Lieberman" or "McCain" - shot hit down the middle that doesn't go quite far enough

The "wormburners" yes, I never heard "God botherers" before. New one!

Putts hit too hard, "exploded in your hand"....as in, "Geez, that one exploded in your hand, didn't it."

That's got to be the first shot on a blowup hole...or it could be a bomb off the tee...which?

"Man! I hit a Diane there" A shot where the swing looked good, the ball took off sweet but ended up in trouble

There is one that translates that we use here...hit one in the trees and the guys start to shout "Masuk Kalimantan"...It went into Kalimantan (Borneo)...an Indonesian island covered by jungles and hardwood forests...only thing that makes me smile about a jungle shot...
