Re: What did you shoot today?

I shot an 80 at my home course today. Had a double bogey on each side that hurt. I chipped and putted very well today.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Played for the first time in 8 days...still suffering the lingering effects of the flu and managed to put together a terrible round...+21 for 15 holes...can't blame it all on the flu though; seems like I lost my swing somewhere...

Re: What did you shoot today?

Shot a pretty uneventful 2 under 70 today. Played pretty steady hitting 14 greens and 30 putts. The only real highlight was a 40 footer for birdie on a 155 yard par 3.

Re: What did you shoot today?

80 on local course I play 8 or so times a year. My iron play finally came around. Hit one off line on 18 that cost me a bogey at the last, otherwise, I shoot in the 70's.

Re: What did you shoot today?

shot an 86 in a 4th flag tournament, 2 over my handicap, so atleast my flag made it to the 18th green. My playing partner shot at 74 and had 4 strokes left and got his flag 90 yards from the green on the 1st hole and ended up winning 3rd place and 80 dollars of pro shop credit

Re: What did you shoot today?

WOW!!!!

I played a course that has been set up for the Public Links Championship next week.
Cantigny Golf - "The Best Public Golf Course Experience in the Country"

And the USGA has really done a number there. The rough was BY FAR the most penalizing I've ever played. It was the first time I played this course and it was cart path only...and I didn't think to buy a yardage book.

Anyway, I was pleased w/ my 92 considering it took five hours to play.

Shot a nice 42 on the front and then it got really slow. FUN day though!!!

Re: What did you shoot today?

Better today...still haven't found my swing; was careening around the course like a drunk driver...but all the same I got up and down 10 times and had 28 putts (including two three putts and one chip in birdie no putt), both very encouraging, and I was solid with a three wood off the tee (driver stayed in the bag after two shots, two penalties and two double bogies)...84- 45/39 with two lost balls and two in the water...better...

Re: What did you shoot today?

I shot a 54 on 9 holes last night. I had to take 3 drops. I am chalking that score up to the massive amount of rain we had an hour before I went out. Every shot was fat, slow, and wet. Hopefully it at least got me warmed up for my 18 tomorrow.

Re: What did you shoot today?

I shot a 77 today. It could have been a career best 75 if it hadn't been for that water on the right hand side of hole 18. Ended up with a double bogey. Every tee shot that day had been either straight or had been a a draw/hook. My swing decides I needed a push to end the day with.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Shot 59. I started out pretty well. Hit mostly good shots on the first few holes but still couldn't putt, then the humidity got to me. It was only about 90*, but man was it humid. I was completely soaked with sweat. Thought I was going to pass out. Got bad enough to card a 10 and two 8's.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Haven't played in a few days, but I went out Monday after work and was shooting well (+3) through the first 8 holes, but then proceeded to drive 2 balls OB and took a 9 on #9. Ended up +8 through 14 holes but I had to call it quits when the darkness started creeping over me.

I can't wait to go out this weekend, I just want this 100* weather to go away!

Re: What did you shoot today?

Wow, it's that hot by you, 90CR?

I played one of the most challenging courses around today.

Makray Memorial Golf Club

73.6 rating!!

I was +6 after nine. I had to quit there because my left hand was so sore I could barely grip my club.

I guess I've been beating too many balls lately. I'm going to continually ice it and give it a few days of rest.

Re: What did you shoot today?

I ended my experiment with the Stack & Tilt swing today and shot my best round of the season, an 83 at a 70.9/118. One penalty, 6 GIRs and 32 putts. No birds, but I left one on the lip. I missed about a half dozen putts between 5-8' or it could've been a great round(for me). I think I'm part of a 4-some again too, which is cool. A former playing partner/church brother who lives about 40 minutes from me and switched to a church closer to him last year called me to join him and a couple of neighbors twice this past week. Hopefully it will be a regular thing. I had a few up & downs and was chipping it within 8' all day. My chipping has improved dramatically due to a new approach. I'm taking a few rhythmic back&forth practice swings then just hitting the shot in rhythm... so far, so good. It stops me from thinking which is always a good thing.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Melting hot today...played later than normal (10 am tee)...frustrating today; struck the ball better than yesterday, but I couldn't get a feel for the shot shape...yesterday it was all fades...today I was drawing everything until near the end of the round when I was getting tired and then shifted to fades...putted well but short game that was so good yesterday was off today and saving par didn't happen too often (blowing par is more like it)...disturbing thing is that while my wood and hybrids were about what they normally are, my irons were and have been extremely short...2-3 clubs short to be exact...towards the end of the round I hit an 8 iron with what felt like a nice swing with good tempo and form, nice center of the face contact...115 yds!?!??! What is that about?...43/46 89.

Re: What did you shoot today?

It was a record for that particular day, but it's been a little hotter before in the 15 years I've been here. I believe weve seen around 111*, which happened to come on a week I had a baseball tournament in town

Re: What did you shoot today?

I tried to edit the above to add this but site didn't allow me so...

Pistol has a rough round, with 3 water ball penalties, but deduces the fix at the end, so he will be ready next time. I have my best ball-striking round of the year, as I hit 16 greens and hit irons repeatedly near the flag. Unfortunately the putter was unco-operative and I wind up with 37 shots, 35 putts.

Re: What did you shoot today?

91 on my home course (rating 69.4 / slope 125). Member-Guest event in my Men's League. We all had to ride carts, which (as a walker) really disrupts my rhythm and focus. Plus which I was advising my guest (who hadn't played my course in years) on tee shots and approach shots, further distracting me from my own game.

Only bright spot: Had a putting lesson yesterday and no 3-putts today. Also, I guess if I'm disgusted with a 91 (my season average last year), that's a sign of progress.

I hate when this happens. You hit the ball and before you even look up your thinking, "This baby is outta of here." and it ends up short.
