Re: What did you shoot today?

shot an 84 on Saturday, drove the ball well for the most part, i'll give it a A-, irons/long wedges ok, rate a B-, chipping, had some very good ones and very bad ones, give it a C, putting, B, would have been an A, but rimmed 4 putts, that was aggravating.

glad to see you're playing much better, the other parts of the game will come around, now the your confidence is back and you don't have to think about making good contact with the ball. wouldn't hurt for to go back and read once a month for a little while.

Re: What did you shoot today?

We had a gorgeous day...about 78* and sunny, no wind. I shot a 42-37=79, with a couple of weird-stuff doubles, and a bogey on 18 due to a really well struck shot that I blew slap over the back of the green. Had a great time.

Re: What did you shoot today?

I shot a 94 today. Not as ugly as it sounds for me though. It was very windy, I had two tee shots go barely OB. Both playable balls, but I like to count all the strokes and penalties. Those two shots and a few 3 putts kept me from getting into the 80's.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Shot a 76 today but it was a short course and played 5027 from the whites par 70. It was windy gusting to about 20mph and I hadn't played in a month so I thought I'd take it easy. Fun little course though with some unique holes, some wide open and others tight and over water. OB comes into play on quite a few around the perimeter of the course.

It was the first chance in awhile because of all the rain plus I've been busy with a couple of tank installs so I have been tied up for a few weeks while the weather was nice. I don't like rubbing it in because alot of the posters live in Fla. or Calif. and they can go most any day. It won't be long and we'll all be able to exchange horror stories of our bad rounds.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Mr. Bogey and I played a match play tournament with another local club today. We took the top 15 (plus pro) from our place and the other club had the same. We played at their place two weeks ago and took a pretty good beating. Today they came to our course for a rematch. We each played a member of the opposite club matchplay (with handicap) and we had 2 man teams for playing best ball (with handicaps.) Mr. Bogey and I played together two weeks ago and took 8 out of 9 points. Today we were not playing together but we each did pretty well. I beat my guy 2.5 to .5 and my twosome beat there twosome 5.5 to 3.5. Mr. Bogey was paired with another of our members and his team won 7 to 2. Our club won today, but lost the two round total by 2 points. Individually I shot 71 (-1) and Mr. Bogey shot 73 (+1) and not to mention I won $40 bucks in skins. Whoo, whooo.

80 today. 10 FiR, 7 GiR, and 31 putts. Played great considering we had steady 15-20 mph winds and gusts up to 30 mph.

Nice round. Congrats. Looks like an especially solid back nine. Hopefully you can build on that one next time out.

Thanks, knowing I have the ability to shoot 6 over through nine will hopefully give me the confidence to go out and do it more. I have 3 rounds so far this year in the upper 80's, so I'm really feeling good about my game and this year

Re: What did you shoot today?

Packed it in after 9 holes on Saturday - moving along nicely and then caught with the "swindle" crowd, who play slowly. I didn't play all that well, I was well over net par, 46 for nine holes with one solitary par.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Played bogey golf today...nothing was quite right, but not terribly wrong either, just uninspired play with similar results...seemed like every shot with every club was a near miss, ok but not great...had two beauties though, a high cut fade from 170 to a pin tucked behind a bunker complex and a 3wood approach from well over 200 to 12 feet...sometimes the ball listens...+14 for 14 holes...I was glad that I am finally learning that with good results I tend to pursue better results through the dreaded overswing, and was able to catch that after a few holes of poor results and correct it...

Re: What did you shoot today?

What a day ! I hit every green but 2 on our hardest 9, but dunk it on the par 3's , add a three putt , and I shoot 41... 41 with 19 putts and 2 penalties . Plus , on the last hole I had a six footer for bird to win the press and tie the days match, but I wimp that one up so it could fall off line. I gotta start hitting the back of the hole instead of trying to drop them over the front edge. Next time out I am taking a different putter and try to change my feel on the greens - I gotta look at my arsenal and figure out which putter has some mojo in it . Maybe it's the lefty....

Re: What did you shoot today?

Well, just when we had a promising weekend here in NJ, it snowed today. Not much, but it came down pretty hard for a little while. With the forecasts now, it looks like April will be here before any consistent playing.

Re: What did you shoot today?

Shot 84 yesterday on a 6208 yd course. Tried out a driver I had with a length of 48 inches but I won't be using it again til I replace it with a shorter shaft or cut the shaft down. Too erratic on control. One minute its a long fade and the next hole a draw. Missed 5 out of 5 fairways and went back to my R7 quad and hit 4 of the next 5. Finished with 7 of 14 fairways hit. Iron control was usual(poor) but ball striking was still good. Greens on this course are painted and hard to read speed and break. Had 32 putts this round and I attribute the higher score to the inconsistancy in short game because of the greens. Couldn't have been me so I need something to blame!

Re: What did you shoot today?

Shot a shakey 90 today, but that's actually an improvement. For one thing, my drives were mostly in play... my irons were mostly crisp. My distances were a bit off, and my chipping was not what I usually expect. The course is till a bit soggy, with a lot of snow still to melt.

The tee shots were the biggest plus today though. My new kitchen appliance (see sig) is a dream. While still not perfect, I was at least playing from the correct hole on all tee shots today and I wasn't doing that with my R7. I hit the first 4 fairways, then pulled a couple of shots left, then back in the fairway. With the R7 I never hit a fairway in 3-1/2 rounds played with it. Not one. I have a new love affair... It may be ugly to look at, but it plays like no driver I've ever hit.

I guess you want to dump that old R7 pretty cheap since it ain't working worth a darn? Which R7 is it and what shaft and degree? I might be interested in an ole piece of junk that doesn't work!
