Re: What did you shoot today?
Many of the guys here would envy you - they want to play alone. Why don't you ask to be put with someone - ask the starter or pro if they know of anyway who would like someone to play with. Or join a league.

Re: What did you shoot today?
Well, I live in a VERY small town (2000 population) about 50 miles east of Houston, formerly had a lot of play from the eastern suburbs, but with gas prices and several nice courses over there, our play has really dropped off.

Re: What did you shoot today?
87 on a par 72 (rating: 71.0; slope: 130) course that I hadn't played in a couple/few years. Encouraging rebound from the 92 I shot on Friday. Gusting winds again, but for some reason I managed them a little better today. Chipping and putting were good or at least adequate for me. Lack of course knowledge hurt me on two holes where I hit into trouble that I couldn't see from where I was. All in all: pleased.

Re: What did you shoot today?
I played 15 holes yesterday before getting caught out in my first Tucson monsoon! We were playing and watching the weather, but it looked like it was still a ways off. Suddenly, we got huge drops and then a downpour. Luckily, the tee box was right next to a comfort station and we had an overhang to hide under. It just poured as hard as I have ever seen. When it quit, we had to cross several washes (low areas that run like creeks after a rain) and in order to get the carts across, we had to have one person drive while the 3 others pushed. The course was just washed out. The greens were standing water as well as most of the fairways. Fortunately, no one was hurt and we didn't get washed away in the flashflood that followed. I was having a good round too, I think I was 8 over and had just put a drive in the middle of the fairway before we had to make a run for it.
Played today at Randolph North and shot 85. Terrible front (44) and great back (41).

Re: What did you shoot today?
14 July Monday
Played poorly again today…yesterday I played 18 and shot an 87…today it was 14 holes and a +10…main thing going on is that I’m not settled on my setup, so I set to the ball differently on each shot looking for the slot…found it a few times, but the rest of the day was spent being uncomfortable ovef the ball…my lost game is starting to wear on me…tough to have fun on the course in a slump…I just can’t seem to put it together, and my woods are killing my scores… poor approaches and lack of a bunker game aren’t helping either… 5/10 fairways, 5 gir, 22 putts…1 birdie…+10 for 14…

Re: What did you shoot today?
After a discouraging round yesterday, I watched Geoff Olgivy swing on Youtube…he always seems to inspire me with his syrupy action…anyway, I felt much more in control on the course today, and was able to hit my spots with most of my clubs, although the woods still need work they were much better…I pulled the mp 60s and put the mp 14s back in the bag and they worked well…irons haven’t been the problem lately, and I hit them well again today…my new wedge is tough to get adjusted to…but I used it on a floaty little pitch from the fairway over a bunker to a short side pin…bit hard and left me a 2 ½ ft par save…good day for sure, and nice to have a little control again…the last 7 holes were pars and I missed just one green in that run…need to work on putting though, but the putting wasn’t bad…just no birdies, but a small complaint…wonder what the rest of the round would have been like as I was really getting "warm" when I had to call it...well..there's tomorrow...
6/8 fairways, 8 gir, 22 putts…12 holes +2…

Re: What did you shoot today?
I played on Friday - at a local County course. Shot 41 on the front and 38 on the back. The new Karsten Craz-E putter felt great, and I had (for me) a decent putting round. I sunk one birdie putt of ~25', but missed two other putts within 5'.
On Sunday I played my local 9-holer and was +1 after 9 holes. Its comprised of short par 4's (only two of which are over 400 yds., and some pretty nice par 3's most of which are 175+ yds.). All in all a great two days of golf.

Re: What did you shoot today?
Mr Bogey July 15 2008 (Pleasant 92 degree day) White tees 3250 yards Lake View
Hole 1 par 4 Mr Bogey 3 Hole 2 par 4 Mr Bogey 4 Hole 3 par 5 Mr Bogey 6 Hole 4 par 3 Mr Bogey 2 Hole 5 par 4 Mr Bogey 4 Hole 6 par 3 Mr Bogey 3 Hole 7 par 5 Mr Bogey 5 Hole 8 par 4 Mr Bogey 4 Hole 9 par 4 Mr Bogey 5 Gross score : Mr Bogey 36(E) Pistol is away for several weeks, so I had to motivate myself to get out and play - I hooked up with a guy that plays with Pistol and I in the afternoons occasionally (Duncan). I hit it to 4 feet on the opening hole for an easy bird, and on the 4th I hit my A wedge within 3 feet and spun it right by the hole - we both thought it was gonna be a hole-in-one, but it barely missed, stopping a foot below the hole. Those were the highlights - I hit it close several other times but couldn't read the short birdie putts right, and both bogeys came from three putting from the fringe when I simply got in the wrong position on tough pins. This is one that could've been really low, but I just slipped in even.

Re: What did you shoot today?
A great big fat meltdown for me today 40 on the front 47 on the back Very frustrating. Of course I had the great thoguht of death. After a par on 10, I remember saying to myself...Hey I am playing pretty well. I think that was my last concious thought....... Love this game!

Re: What did you shoot today?
Been playing around with my clubs. I put my TA V31 blades in the bag and I am hitting them pretty good. I am still struggling with one big ugly hole per side that is keeping me out of the 70's. I shot 84 today with a triple on the front and the back. those blow up holes are driving me crazy. I didn't even have a double, just those two triples and some bogies with a bunch of pars.

Re: What did you shoot today?
I played 27 holes today. The first nine I just couldn't get things going. I shot a 42. The second nine was better, I hit 6 out of 9 greens, but my putting stroke just wasn't there. I shot a 39 on the second nine. The last nine was not as good as the front with regards with ball striking, but I got up and down quite a bit. 4 bogeys and 1 birdie led to another 39.

Re: What did you shoot today?
Thursday July 17, 2008
I played this morning…stiff as all get out from playing football with the boys on Tuesday…couldn’t play or practice yesterday…getting too old for this! Surprised myself and played well out of the box with no warmup…birdied the first…continued to play fairly well, but took a bogey and a double back to back on 4 and 5…discouraged, I passed the clubhouse and the pro stopped me for a little pep talk…finished with only one more bogey and the rest pars including the last four holes that the pro tagged along with a junior student (Good morning sir…this is my 9th time playing!)…he corrected me only once when I set to a ball in the trees and took a super aggressive line…wound up making par after a lateral punch out…he punched me on the shoulder, told me to enjoy myself and stop thinking so much…he’s got a point…interesting observation he had on my driver tee shot…I thought I pushed it right as it took off dead straight to the right…he told me that I was aligned fine and the swing was good…only that I was aimed dead right…maybe he found the key to my tee shot issues…very impressed with the junior…still green, but his swing is a real swing, not a hit…he was hitting the ball very straight and pretty long all things considered…wish someone put a club in my hands at 13… I have figured out how to swing and where to put the ball for my new wedge, just forward of center, and was hitting it very solidy…I took note of the full swing distance on two shots with my laser and am going to tape it and a half swing distance to my wedges (note to self)… …just need to play a practice round tomorrow to hammer that out (range distances are irrelevant)… I backed up both full wedge shots today considerably (about 15 feet each time)…problem is that I was short of the hole to begin with, and that is too much movement for a standard shot; still have to get used to it I guess…I made a few putts today and left the course pretty satisfied…it’s a good day when the pitchmark tool gets a workout, and on my missed girs I was still hitting the green only with my third or fourth shot (one struggle on a par 5) after blowing tee shots into the trees and punching out….good day today…funny thing is that I am still stiff as a board and my legs are sore as can be…maybe I’ve been moving my legs too much because I hit most shots well today…maybe I’m thinking too much but at the same time the game is starting to come easier again… 7/11 fairways…9 gir…25 putts…one birdie…+3…14holes…

Re: What did you shoot today?
One of my high school buddies called and asked me to join him for a round at the Marion AR. Golf and Athletic club. It's a pretty stern test for this area, I believe C-Tech has played this course a few times.
Well, this course ate my lunch today, and it was starting on dinner before I was through. I shot a 92. It was a bogey infested, water hazzard filled day. It was the first time I played the course and I think could definitely score better. After our 18, we sprung around and played the first 5 again. I was going strong this time around with four straight two putt pars before I dropped one in the water on 5. This was the first time I've ever played this course. I liked the layout and it requires a lot of course management which I'm not used to. I was also fooled by the distances...I just couldn't trust the yardages. For example, on the par 13, skycaddie said 122 to the center of the green. The green is in the shape of the state of Arkansas. I didn't trust the yardage and I chose my 9 iron instead of the pw which is my 120 club. Glub glub glub, ball in the drink over the back. It was a pretty casual round so I wasn't in full "game on" mode. I didn't think properly and I didn't use my skycaddie to it's full advantage. I know I could break 80 on this course, but I would have to play smart.
