Re: Ping G2/G5
I would suggest separating these two set of irons.
I hit both sets over a two year period when I was looking to replace my irons, and after hitting the G2's decided to keep playing my old Ping Eyes. However, after hitting the G5's--and quite a few other manufacturers' clubs as well--I decided that I had never hit a better club. In fact, I said out loud to the pro, "Why does anyone ever buy anything other than these G5's?" |

Re: Ping G2/G5
The G2s have been great irons for me.Nice feel, good ballflight, which has resulted in my handicap finally dropping into the single digits. The G2s are my third set of pings. Each time i start looking fo a new set of irons i will demo some of the other brands thinking i will switch. But, i always come back to pings because of the fit, feel and outstanding quality.

Re: Ping G2/G5
Hit the G10 Irons today, very nice and solid. Great ball flight and distance. I had tried out the G5's several times and was very close to making the purchase . . . I'm glad I waited.
Got fitted by a Class "A" PGA Pro, must have hit a fifty balls from a lie board, etc., my new G10 Irons (3-PW-2° upright) will be here in about ten days. Feels good to be moving into the 21st century, my fourteen year old Titelist DCI Black Irons were certainly "old school". |
