Anyone found a decent 13 degree loft three wood?

I used to use a Titleist 13 degree PT three wood. Great club, later reissued because Tiger used it.

Does anyone know if a major manufacturer makes a lefty three wood at 13 degrees?

Nope. I don't know, but I know some make a 13* driver, like Nike's SUMO2 (squared) is made in Lucky 13* for lefties and righties.

Re: Anyone found a decent 13 degree loft three wood?

Oh, lots make a "strong" 13* 3 wood:

Ping G5
Nike Sasquatch
Cobra Speed
Titleist 904f/906f2
Taylor Made r7 TP
Taylor Made Burner

If you go to TGW.com you can specify the handedness and loft you are looking for in a fairway wood - that's how I found all those above. Gotta help out my fellow lefties...

The wishon 515 grt comes in 14 degrees but the distribution of weight does not hit very high.
It is the first 3W with a COR rating. Very hot.

I have the Cobra 3+ and it hits nicely. Lot's of places have them on sale now for about $125. I have an old TM Super Steel x-stiff that I just love, but I don't know if it is 13* or not.

The Taylor Made r7 13* 3 wood looks pretty good to me. I've been close to picking one up for a while now. There's always a bunch of left handed one's on ebay, for pretty decent prices.

It is a great club, the sole is comparable to the V Steel and the head is a nice compact size.

Re: Anyone found a decent 13 degree loft three wood?

The Louisville Golf Niblick can be ordered left handed in 13 degrees, I believe, as a 2 wood. I use their 3,5,and 7 left handed Niblicks, and I think they are the most accurate woods I have ever hit, metal ones included. Their Fairway Finder 2 driver can also be ordered with a 12 1/2 degree loft, left handed . I use one and love it. It has a 250cc head. You would not believe the control it gives.

Is the Fairway Finder you use also known as the Smart F2 ?

wb4tjh... I didn't know you were a lefty! BTW, I'm Bill.. aka billybogey5.
I've talked to you numerous times over on the other site.

And yes, I am still debating getting the Niblicks... the debate rages on with
my wallet!

Hi Bill....name here is also Bill and I'm a born lefty. Yes, that would be the Smart F2 I believe they call it now. Mine is three years old now. It's offered in two lofts, based on swing speed. I have a rather easy swing speed in the low 80s, so the 12.5 degree suits me just fine. I have an "A" flex steel shaft in it and all my Niblicks, but they are also available in graphite with any flex you want. But whatever shaft you get, you will find that these clubs have the sweetest feel, feedback and sound you ever experienced. I grew up with persimmon, so I was used to it and welcomed it back as an old friend. But if you have never played real wood, it will be quite a change for you. But a well struck persimon club is the sweetest feel and sound in golf. These clubs also have a lot more gear effect than metal you will find and are almost self correcting when you hit them on the toe or heel. I'm not saying you can mishit them and get away with it, just that on mishits they will steer the ball back on a straight course much better than a metal head can. I would recommend that you invest in a 7 Niblick, or even a 9 Niblick as a specialty club if you just want to give them a try. But whatever one you choose, get one you will use a lot. Then, if it suits your style and taste, go for the the whole enchilada, so to speak. The Niblick is also available as a 2 wood, 13 degrees loft, so you might consider that for a "try club". I'm no expert, being a 20 handicap, but I really like mine. I also have three of their putters...a TC-1 , anser style with persimmon insert; a maple headed mallet, and my favorite, a persimmon Stimp putter, center shafted with changeable weights. These wood putters give you a feel totally unlike an all metal putter. I just like being able to use golf clubs that aren't stamped out by the tens of thousands in Red China then super overpriced to the gullible public. The Louisville Golf woods are handmade, with American grown wood, by old time American craftmen in Louisville, KY. I'm not a "spokesman or salesman" for Louisville Golf, but I feel that we should support a small company like theirs that still makes the "good stuff" in America, by real American craftsmen. There's not a lot of that kind of gear available any more. Their woods are the most beautiful golf clubs I have ever seen. I even enjoy cleaning the heads and giving them a good coat of paste wax once in a while.

I know that sonartec makes low lofted left hand clubs...I am neither left handed nor have I tried sonartec fairway woods, but I have a md hybrid that is very well made...

Re: Anyone found a decent 13 degree loft three wood?

hey Bill... thanks for all the great info on the Smart F2 driver, as well as the shafts and Niblicks, etc!

Maybe we should get a Persimmon Wood thread going. I'm sure there are others here (1 or 2 maybe? ) that would like to talk about clubs made from trees!

I certainly do.

California Bill

Re: Anyone found a decent 13 degree loft three wood?

I'm 60 years old, and have a slower swing speed, so spending 400 bucks on the latest, new fangled gizmo driver every year is a silly, waste of money for me. I have found that a slower, more deliberate swing will always be more accurate than just trying to hit the ball as hard as I can. So for me, the Louisville Golf persimmon clubs work wonders. Last week, I was playing with a couple of friends and the course was almost empty of golfers late in the afternoon. On 18, I hit three drives, one after the other, just for fun, and all three balls landed in a 30 foot circle in the middle of the fairway. My two golfing buddies were dumbfounded that I could hit a driver with that kind of accuracy. My drives are only about 200 yards or so, but to land three of them in a 30 foot circle shows what you can do when you use an easy, repeatable tempo. I have done this a number of times, but it only works when I can psyche myself into really relaxing, and using a really smooth tempo. For me, that's the hard part, relaxing and just concentrating on a smooth, easy swing. But when you get in that right frame of mind, you can hit a golf ball with the accuracy of a rifle. I just wish it had not taken me 40 years to realize this. If only I could do it consistantly.
