Momentus Power Hitter Driver

Has anyone used one of these? Do you think it is effective? Curious to hear what anyone has to say.

Re: Momentus Power Hitter Driver

I have the 5 iron. It helps me smooth out my swing.

Re: Momentus Power Hitter Driver

Being a gadget guy, I am willing to try anything.

I used the Momentus 275 in the store. With 5 practice swings, you proceed to swing the driver faster. The advantage of this over the conventional weighted iron is that you can hit with it. However, given the price, you are better off swinging the weighted iron and follow it with your driver.

Given that I have just started this game, a faster swing didn't translate to much regarding accuracy on the clubface - from the launch monitor. I feel more comfortable at 95 MPH over the 106 MPH regarding tempo and accuracy of a square face at impact.

If you watch the infomercial, these guys are single digit HCP or scratch golfers. I never saw a double digit HCP 'golfer' on their show say, "Wow! I added 10-15 MPH in swing speed to get X more yards from my driver!"

Now with the famous Intech weighted iron weighing in at 48 oz (versus the 40 oz Momentus) from Walmart.com, costing just $30, you have a cheaper alternative and can afford a 1 hour lesson from your PGA pro.
