My Swing

Hey all,

Haven't been around for a while. Working alot. Anyway in January I went to TPC Sawgrass and took 2 vids of my swing. The first one went into the water the second one stayed on the green.

Re: My Swing

Hi All,

Thought this would be easier. I put my swing on golfacademy.com so people can see a side by side view of the 2 swings. Thanks to Bump-n-Run for showing me the site.

Difficult to discern whether you were late from the back view. But the divot looks good and I like the aggressive move through.

IF you post before impact, you will make crisp contact and hit it straight. If you lag back you will suffer the results that 99% of amateurs do.

Re: My Swing

for posting a "My Swing" video from a world famous hole!

I cannot tell for sure why the 1st one went onto the water, and the 2nd one found the green. Your swing shows plenty of consistency between the 2 videos. Where did the 1st one end up? Short, Long, Left, Right?

Re: My Swing

The first one ended up on the left side in the water about center of the green high.

Larrysf,

By posted do you mean having all my weight onto the left leg so its in the locked position?

Not "locked," but definitely straight. You want to step on your front leg early in the backswing, "engage" your front hip joint, and pivot around that instead of your back leg. That "transition" weight shift is the secret of accuracy and distance. As you "clear your hips," you provide room for your back elbow to travel toward the target--to approach the ball from along or inside the target line-- AND the stretch and release of your big dorsal back muscles is what WHIPS your shoulders and arms around for effortless clubhead speed.

The secret is early--start planning to do this AS you backswing.
