Post Breckenridge Area

Hello!
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Breckenridge over the end of June and through the 4th of July for our 2nd year anniversary. I'm going to be playing some golf hopefully and I was wondering if there was anywhere that you all would recommend?

Thanks,
Adam

Re: Breckenridge Area

We have a condo in Breckenridge. I love going there in the Summer....although I haven't been there in five years.

My favorite course is the Jack Nicklaus Breckenridge Golf Club (~$100). It's always in perfect shape, it's very challenging and some of the views are amazing.

The Raven golf club is also pretty sweet (about 15 miles from Breck.).

If you need more suggestions, let me know....but these are my favorites!

Re: Breckenridge Area

Do you have any recommendations on where would be good to stay?

I showed my g/f this thread and she was laughing because she already found the Jack Nicklaus Breckenridge Golf Club... maybe I should leave finding the golf courses to her?

Nope, sorry....I've never stayed anywhere else.

BTW- if you like fishing, be sure to rent some poles and then go catch some Trout at the Dillon Rservoir. Each time I go, I pull out 25-50 Trout in just a few hours.

And Frisco (one town over) usually has some cool 4th of July stuff going on.

Re: Breckenridge Area

I was in Breckenridge for business a couple of years ago and stayed at Beaver Run on Village Road. It's really close to Breckeridge GC, rooms were nice and the service was great.

I also liked the Breckenridge GC. It was tough, especially for a hack like me. I'm not a long hitter, but I did hit my first (and only) 220 yard 3-iron tee shot there though. Picked up a "Golfing with Altitude" golf cap from the Pro Shop, which is a good conversation-starter.

Re: Breckenridge Area

This is where our condo is-

Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge at Breckenridge: For a memorable vacation in Breckenridge

It's a pretty nice place ..a little out-dated (but it's BRECKENRIDGE! )

And the location is perfect!

Re: Breckenridge Area

The Nicklaus course is great. There should be lots of stay and play packages for places in the area. I'd suggest keeping an eye on the local tourism sites for deals after the first of the year. For other golfing suggestions... Keystone also has 2 fine courses and is only about 15 minutes away.

I can also recommend a good place to eat... just as you come into the north end of town there is a restaurant in one of the original buildings from the 1800's called the Steak and Rib. Excellent food... good place to eat... the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer is worth stopping in for even if you don't eat anything else. One of the owners is a friend of ours. HERE is the web site.

Re: Breckenridge Area

The Keystone courses are nice but they played at 5+ hours each time I've been there.
