Ryder Cup Central Here we go again. This time at Valhalla, September 16-21, in the heart of Kentucky for Golf's bi-yearly version of The Hatfields vs. The McCoys. It's been a rough go of it for the US lately. Will this be the year the Tiger-less fresh blood steps up or will it be more of the same ? Here is the place for all of your Ryder Cup discussion.

Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

Well, he sure showed us!

Kenny Perry skips the US Open so that he can be fresh and peak just in time for the Buick! Great job Kenny!

I gotta go find Leaguegolf's 'Bum of the Month' thread...

And you know a tournament is WAY DOWN on the popularity list when it doesn't even get at thread at GRW.

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

Sweet! Kenny Perry was one of my five picks in my fantasy leaugue. Woody Austin was also a pick and I was torn between picking Fred Funk or Bubba Watson (unfortunately went for Funk, who in turn, was cut). So, I did fairly well this week!

Well, Dorms, this is the brave new Tiger-less world. Better get used to it.

Anyway, great win for Kenny! I've been following the PGA TOUR closely since 1993, and Kenny is probably the best 45+ yr. old pro we have seen in that time. He seems to get better with age. He now has eight TOUR victories after turning 40.

Bubba Watson put on a great show, too. He really needed a good week. And Australian Matt Jones (remember the Honda Classic?) locked up his 2009 TOUR card with his t-4th finish.

We'll have to see how he progresses now that he is 45, but Vijay Singh has 16 wins since turning 40.

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

He must be kicking himself for not entering the US Open - his form has been consistent all year and he could have been right in the mix - was he paid to stay away??

That's what I'm saying, and it isn't as if a guy who hits a draw almost exclusively didn't do well there...

...ahem...

I also heard him say yesterday that he would walk 36 in the Ryder Cup if he was asked to, but just a month ago said he was too old to do that for U.S. Open qualifying.

I don't get an overwhelming feeling of honesty coming out of Kenny...

Skipped the US OPEN so that he could PEAK for the BUICK...

I know, it's one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard (on Kenny's part, that is).

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

Azinger is going to have a hard time keeping old Kenny off the team now isn't he!

Just a thought..........It would've really ruined a good story if Perry had played in the US Open and won.

Hopefully Azinger will consider toughness over gutless when selecting the final few on his team.

Who Azinger selects will have nothing to do with Perry. I'll be willing to bet that none of the Captain's Picks will have 2 wins this year.

, all four may not have 2 wins among them.

Re: Kenny Perry... Brilliant!

Had Perry in my fantasy picks. Great job He is driven to make the Ryder club team and play in his home state.

I don't know that he's going to have that choice with "Kenneth"

If any of them had the sack to show up at qualifying for a major and have a go of it, I'll be ok with it.
