Re: Fitness/Injury forum
I voted yes...
There's a "training aid" subforum that get's no action, so why not add a category that's equally as important as Grip Reviews or Training Aid Reviews...just my opinion. Golf fitness, nutrition, and injuries is something that we should all care about...Thanks. |

Re: Fitness/Injury forum
I voted 'No'. How many different ways can some ask/answer the below question?
What's a good exercise routine for golfers? What are good stretches for golfers? Lower back pain...help? Sciatica acting up...help? All of the above questions have been answered more than once on this website. There is a 'Search' option, the members need to use it.

Re: Fitness/Injury forum
You've got 500 members currently. In two years you'll most likely see triple that amount in membership, and double that amount in discussion traffic. You need to think long-term imo.
What happens when that much activity occurs? Topics get burried. Suddenly, you've got four times as many redundent threads popping up, because in the 10 years that I've been frequenting message boards, the search feature is the most unused feature on the mainframe of nearly all websites. What's easier -- to post a question by starting a new thread or doing a detailed search? It would seem to me that creating a sub-forum would be much more efficient, not only from a bandwidth aspect, but also preventing mods from having to merge and/or delete old posts. It helps keep the site less cluttered with identical discussions. As for the topic of Fitness and Injury itself, I personally think that it's every bit as deserving of it's own section than some of the others. A good number of people who play golf do so under some significant ailments and injuries. Anything that a fellow member could offer to help someone enjoy a round of golf a little more is something that should be embraced. I've played half of my career with lower back pain, and have been able to do so only because of some excellent advice that I've received from another golf website that does have an active fitness forum with some excellent contributors. I'd strongly suggest not overlooking this benefit. And like I said, as the site grows, the more diverse it becomes, the more likely that you'll see people benefitting from that type of discussion. So the question then is: Do we make navigating this site easier, or more difficult? That's my opinion. I think it's a great idea, personally. |
