The 800 lb. Elephant in the Room

OK...I was never good at minding my own business. I'm just curious by nature so, what happened to the site yesterday? Why were screen changes and logons so difficult just before the site went offline? There are so many rumors circulating from other sites......Of course an explanation is not OWED by anyone, but I also know everyone's curiosity is piqued because of the PMs I've been getting and the talk at other sites. I wonder what happened and what's going on.

Re: The 800 lb. Elephant in the Room

It took finding a small enough crane to get it into the servers building to get the elephant off the server's tower. Let that be a lesson to all that want to take peanuts to work and don't watch for stray elephants looking for a hand out. When one of the people in the office refused to share the peanuts the elephant went on a sit down strike. He just sat in the wrong place.

Hopefully a mod or the admin would fill us in some time today?

Patience fellas..............Animal Control just left and there's a ton of clean-up to "doo."

We'll be filling in the entire membership later today. For now, let's just say that rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated.

Only 800 pounds?....mighty little elephant. Now if you find a 5 ton bull elephant in the room, now, THAT'S a problem....

OMG.....old age is a bummer! I wanted to say "gorilla" (of course) but as soon as I typed 800 lb. elephant came to mind. What's next? Mrs. JohnEli's gonna find me out in the middle of the street muttering to myself!!

Never mention weight and your wife in the same sentence, or else we might not even find you, let alone muttering anywhere.

I think if you'd left out the weight you'd have been alright. The "elephant in the room" is the big, obvious issue nobody wants to discuss.

The "800lb gorilla" is just the setup for an old joke. He sleeps wherever he wants to.

And is there something wrong with muttering to yourself in the street ?
