Wolf Creek, Atlanta, Georgia

This one is about a good 3-wood shot (say, no more than ten minutes) from Atlanta's airport, although once you're on the course you'd never know it was near what is officially the World's Busiest air terminal. The fairways and greens (bent grass) are almost always in great shape and there is enough variety in the terrain and the design of the holes and greens to keep you both interested and challenged. Wolf Creek plays about 7100 from the tips and about 6500 yards for those us who tee-off from the blues. The course can be more than a bit penal if you don't keep the ball in the fairway. In addition to the challenge of the 18 holes, nature lovers will, in the evenings, also see deer (big ones) dash along the fairways and into the rough.

Marty and AJ, in the clubhouse are friendly and accomodating and seem to be truly interested in you enjoying Wof creek and they act like they want you to come back.
Although there are courses on the north side of Atlanta that are better known especially to outsiders, until recently Wolf Creek has been one of the better kept secrets in among golfers. If you are in the Atlanta area it is a MUST play.

One tip: Play Wolf Creek during the week. The course has increased in nototriety and popularity. Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons are witness to a full parking lot of cars and golfers.
