More time to make corrections?

I usually don't notice mistakes in my posts right away, but usually find them later when I return to the thread. However, the "edit" button seems to go away quite quickly. Could the amount of time before the "edit" function disappears be made a little longer, maybe more like 24-36 hours?

Some of us who think faster than they type would find that handy.
