Saying Hi from South Florida

Hi, I'm glad to be a part of this new site. I live in Sarasota, Florida, and spend much of my free time golfing, playing ham radio, and flyfishing. I am 60 years of age, a retired TV news reporter and Sheriff's deputy and five years ago became a cardiac transplant recipient. I would rather walk the course than ride and am just a humble 20 handicap. I have been playing this noble, but sometimes frustrating game since I was 12. One nice thing about living this far south in Florida, is that I get to wear shorts about 99% of the year. "Winter" usually lasts only a week or two and it seldom gets very cold for long. Right now it's back into the 80s and it looks like winter is over.

....I play the new forged Hattons most of the time, but I still have my Armour 845FS and my Cleveland TA-6 irons. I get both the other sets out once in a while and play them. The truth is, they are all good sets, and I'm still not 100% decided on which I like best. I guess it's like having three different pairs of shoes and changing them up for whatever suits you on a particular day. The nice thing about the Armours is that they have a graphite shaft and are so light. They also have a bit more narrow a sole on them than the others, so their hitting characteristics are a bit different. I really like them, but like I said, I can't seem to make up my mind which set of irons I like best. The TA-6s are no slouch either. They are soft as soap. So... and...

Well, as you know I really like my 845fs irons (steel shafts). I requested the Armour smilie you see here even (thanks Brooke!).

Checking in for the first time from snow-bound western NY

I just checked in here and will navigate a bit before chiming in anywhere. Regardless, if this site is as advertised, I think that I will enjoy it.

Well, welcome to you as well! I can assure you, you won't find a better forum on the net! Nor will you find any friendlier people to discuss this great game with MyAce!

Welcome to the site, myace188! Yes, this site is the real deal...or so we believe. I believe you're the first member we've had from that section of the state...plenty from Buffalo but none over toward Rochester. Enjoy the site!
