New to the boards

Just saying "hey y'all" to everyone. I live in the Mountains of Western North Carolina, and I work as the news editor for my hometown newspaper. I try to play as much a possible, though lately my schedule and work load has prevented it.

Anyway looking forward to reading and posting. I enjoy good debate, whether part of it or witnessing it.

Welcome, k-sig! Had a friend once from Boone, NC. Guy name-a Dave. Ever meet him? Not a golfer, though (slick-fielding shortstop). Anyway, glad to have you here!

Re: New to the boards

Welcome to the site...my grandmother and that half of the family come from Banner Elk and Blowing Rock...anywhere near you? Love that area and I either go there or to the Washington DC area when I visit the States...

BTW, the Boone Golf Club (or Boone something or other) was a steal of a deal for a pretty nice track...

Re: New to the boards

Boone and Banner Elk are about three hours away from here. I'm in Franklin, N.C., about 70 miles west of Asheville and eight miles north of the North Carolina/Georgia state line. I was a founding member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, where our mascot was the catamount. Hence the name ksig (Kappa Sigma), then catamount.
