Help me here (match play scoring)

Ok. I'm new to watching match play, but I don't understand the scoring. If one player wins and another loses on each hole, then I can understand someone being 2 up, say.

But why is Tiger said to be 3 and 2? After 18 holes??

Thanks!
Peter

Re: Help me here (match play scoring)

They didn't play 18 holes, he was 3 holes up after 16, so his opponent was not able to catch him, even if he won the last two holes, so they ended the match "early." So he was 3 holes ahead with only 2 left to play, he won 3 and 2. Hope that helped.
