Tiger's event takes over for the International

Kinda ironic...Tiger supposedly destroys the International by not showing up (Mr. Vickers' words, not mine ) and his foundation comes to the rescue by taking over the event in its slot on the schedule. The event will be played in the Washington, DC area over the weekend of the 4th of July.

Re: Tiger's event takes over for the International

Glad to see an event back in the D.C. area, it is a great area for golf and will draw a lot of people to the event.

"Destroys" is inaccurate....the actual word he used was "hurt" (by Tiger not playing). However, the end result was the same.....I am sure to those involved with the International, destroys would be appropriate...

If that is the case, then I guess it how the saying goes..."where does the 500 pound gorilla sit..." - Anywhere.

Or a Tiger.
That's to bad. I know the Twin Cities were in the mix and was hoping we might get a regular PGA Tour stop.

The BMW Championship should be coming to your area every few years as a small consolation, perhaps.

No...it would be irony if he used the same format as the now defunct International
