On one hand, that kinda surprises me.

But when you think about it, if any of these guys were hosting their own tournaments, do you really think that Tiger would show up? It's a rhetorical question, I know. But I think we know what the answer would be.

7 of the top 30 is about average for a PGA Tour event these days. The Buick Open would love to have that many.

This has to be a big disappointment to the PGA TOUR and Tiger Woods, although I'm sure Tiger would publicly shrug it off.

The Top Players are Major set and its off to the UK for the build up to the Open.

Indeed. I had been hoping that my favorite player, Phil Mickelson, would skip the AT&T, and, when I found out he was not in the field, I was actually quite pleased.

This gives Phil a three-week vacation before his start at Loch Lomond, a tournament he has made a yearly priority.

It's nice yes and it is in a stunning location, but there's some serious competition for best new course in Europe. Not least places like Kingsbarns. I'm not really that big of a fan of the type of golf course that Loch Lomond is, in particular in a place like Scotland. Still, I'd accept if someone invited me there. That's for sure.

Anyone with the cash can play Kingsbarns,getting a game at Loch Lomond is like looking for hens teeth.

This is true, though I don't think exclusivity should be used as a defining category when rating courses.
