Phil's mental stamina isn't strong enough for that. He gets burned out quickly.

But we now are embarking on a very important stretch of tournaments for Phil. He'll play in four of the next five weeks, with one of those tournaments being a European Tour event.

After that stretch, Phil will surely skip Greensboro, but the FedEx Cup Play-Offs start right after that, with The Barclays at Ridgewood CC, in New Jersey, followed by the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston, where he'll be defending.

So Phil's gonna be busy for the next couple months. You can bet that many observers will be watching for Phil to really step it up in the absence of the peerless Tiger Woods.

I understood the question, sparky - it's absurd. As soon as you can conjure up a similar question that a 5 year old wouldn't call conjecture, I'll be the first to comment on its merits.

Yes, and according to some of the others in this thread, he'll be using it to play in $500 golf tournaments the rest of the year.

Oh well. I've wasted enough time trying to explain the obvious to you. I'll let you get back to bickering about nothing.

Actually my job is editing and translation, which is why it's so easy to pick apart some of the posts on this board.

Texas Wedge, since you so desire an answer to this question, I'll give you one: the reason he gets paid "$40,000 a year" is because he "travel[s] somewhere to play in a hundred dollar tournament." If Phil didn't travel places to play golf, he wouldn't make what he makes; in fact, he makes the money he makes because he travels places to play in golf tournaments.

Think the question still makes sense?
