Scottish Open at Loch Lomond

If you're going to watch the guys this week, this is probably the one to see as most of the big guns who are playing this week are here getting ready for The Open. Thongchai Jaidee has the early lead at -7 but is followed closely by Cabrerra, Fasth, Romero, Stenson & Westwood. Phil is bumping along at even par with a couple of holes left.

There are only 7 players who play in the pga tour regularly. (Chopra, Scot, Els, Phil, tenson Romero and Poulder) So I wouln't call it a strong field. Even the top europeans are not there. Garcia, Karlson, Rose, Harrington, Donald?

That's why I qualified it with "who are playing this week". It still beats the John Deere field for my interest. 7 top 25 in the WR vs 1 (KP).

Re: Scottish Open at Loch Lomond

Phil & Ernie both rebounded nicely with a 67 & 66 respectively and are at -4 which should be well under the cut line. Cabrerra is still on the course leading the way at -9. He might not be a bad pick to win his 2nd major next week.

Pretty weak, yes. Jiminez is about the only one playing decent of those listed. I guess you could say Poulter hasn't been bad but that guy disgusts me. Stenson is nowhere close to where he was last year. Probably the latter than usual start but other than the match play I don't think he has burned any fires.

Why does Poulter disgust you ? Has he been stealing your outfits ?

He wears the ones I was going to use as shop rags. I don't like his hair either or his sunglasses.

Tiger's
Stenson's
pretty much anything that looks good without looking like a landing strip for toy airplanes.

That's right! I am the man!!!!!!! I wear camo's as well but we were talking about their attire and why I didn't like Poulter.

Hey, we can't all like the same thing or it would be really dull.

Why do you encourage him? I think Ian Poulter often looks really good. Some of his clothes are a bit outlandish, but most outfits are nice.

CP, you are most definitely the only observer who will use the word "weak" in describing the field at Loch Lomond.

But back to this fine event. Gorgeous course. Gorgeous location. Strong field. Excellent leaderboard.

The media really billed Phil, Ernie and Adam Scott highly. Good thing they all mounted spirited charges toward the top of the leaderboard.

And it's great to see Ross Fisher and Oliver Wilson continue their fine play. These two are having wonderful years. And don't miss your chance to see young Oliver Fisher. He's in contention this week.

These two will be paired for Saturday's third round. Another great pairing will be the Ernie Els-Phil Mickelson game, which goes off 2 1/2 hours before the leaders. A 66 would go a long way.

Re: Scottish Open at Loch Lomond

shaping up to be a great Sunday round, anyone of several players could still win,for a weak field they are serving up some fantastic golf. The weather tomorrow is supposed to be better again so hopefully we will see some low scores being shot.

I guess I'll be the only honest one telling it like it is. It looks though as there is a changing of the guards. I've noticed as Ernie, Montgomery and others seem to be faultering quite a bit you now have the young guns over there that are coming up to the top more consistently the last couple of years. I'll agree that the course is beautiful and it is good to see target type courses over there replacing many of the old style goat pasture courses.
