The 2008 Open Pick Em Contest
It’s time for Golf Rewound's 2008 Open Championship Pick Em Contest. The prize will be a dozen customized Titleist Pro V1s for the winner ! The rules haven’t changed and are as follows.
6 players, including your pick to win, must be selected. The field will be broken up into 3 groups. --Group A - 1-15 in the World Rankings. --Group B - 16-30 in the World Rankings. --Group C - The rest of the field. -- Pick a maximum of 2 each from Group A and Group B and the rest from Group C. You may select as many players as you like from Group C, but pick no more than 6 players total. --The winner will be determined by the lowest total combined strokes for their selections. --Players who miss the cut will be assigned the highest score recorded Saturday & Sunday respectively. --Identify whom you think will win, 20 bonus strokes will be subtracted from your total for picking the winner. Your pick to win must be one of your 6 selections. --Bonus strokes will also be subtracted (10,8,6,4,2) for selecting players who finish in the top 5 though these don't have to be specifically identified in your selections. Also, you don't get an extra 10 for having the winner if he was already your winner selection. --Tiebreaker will be selecting the total number of combined strokes for the winning selection. (bonus points not included in the tie-breaker. 1680 would be even par for 6 players at Royal Birkdale. You are responsible for insuring your selections will be playing, but are free to choose 2 alternates from Group C just in case any of your picks bails out. I'll accept entries or changes posted here until 2:00am US/EDT, Thursday July 16th. Good Luck ! Isn't there still a couple of places from the Scottish Open available to add to the list?
Checked it out. Two places left - One from The Scottish Open and One from The John Dere. Top 5 finish for ONE player not already in the Championship at both venues
