Rifle S-5.5 grip size?
Not sure how big of a difference it makes, but would like to get a re-gripping kit and I'm not sure if I need .580 or .600. These are on Macgregor M685's and they've got their new models on the web site, and I'm not sure if they are the same. The new one's show to have .600. Thanks in advance.

Re: Rifle S-5.5 grip size?
You can use either. I use a .58 on my rifle flighted shafts because I like a slightly undersize grip (.58 stretched over .60 butt will make the grip feel smaller). If you want a "standard" size grip use the .60

Re: Rifle S-5.5 grip size?
One Putt, that was my understanding. If you look at the grip weight for the two, the .580 can be anywhere from 3 to 5 grams more than a .600, with everything else being equal. I saw a responce on another forum and someone mentioned it could change your swing weight by one to two numbers. When I first asked this question it was more of concern about the grip fitting properly. More to it than I thought. Thanks for the help everyone.

Re: Rifle S-5.5 grip size?
3 to 5 grams will not change the swing weight enough to measure. It would take 8 to 10 grams to notice a change. Grips are designed to give a certain finished size when installed. This is why a 580 shaft needs a thicker walled grip, which is what the 580 core size grip does. Which is also why they weight a little more. Either size grip will fit on the shaft okay, the only difference would be the diameter of the club would be about .020" bigger than standard.
